Texas has been home for the last 36 years. In 1996 I finally decided what I wanted to be when I grew up and suddenly found myself volunteering with an Adult Day Care as an Enrichment Coordinator. After a year of 40 hour weeks, I moved to a nursing home, then to Alzheimer's care, then to Assisted Living and finally to an Independent Living near my home. My husband Joe and I, both retired now, still go back and sing with some of those places. Our kids, Dan, Karen and Jennie are all in the immediate area, as well as our five grandchildren. We started cruising with Karen and her husband in the fall of 2006 and fell under the spell of the ocean, sand and stars. We are leaving on our 8th this year in early November. There is something about the water, the total darkness, the stars, and in the daytime the deck chairs and a good book. Not to mention the good food, music.
